DIY Firepit in 30 Minutes

We had a stack of old pavers behind our shed left by the previous owners. We talked about using them in the yard at some point, but never seem to have the time. This weekend we stayed home and just cranked out a lot of chores that we've been meaning to do and it was so productive. Don't you love weekends like that?

The afternoon was winding down and I asked Mike if he would be willing to help me build a firepit. Our metal firepit that moved with us from Savannah was trashed. A friend of mine told me about the firepit her fiance built using leftover pavers. You don't need anything but some pavers and muscle. In just around 30 minutes I got a great workout lifting paver after paver from the back of the shed to the spot my husband designated just under a cluster of trees near our patio. I can see us hanging out here at night with friends and family roasting smores.

1. First dig up a circle big enough to encompass your pavers and rake up any leftover grass and leaves.

2. Start to create a circle with your pavers and turn them about 30 to 45 degrees.
3. The next row of pavers will stack over that triangular void you've created with two pavers just underneath it.
4. Add some firewood, grab some sticks, marshmellows, chocolate and graham crackers and you're ready to go!
